Planegg urban densification

Urban densification

The concept of urban densification identifies vacant land within existing developments for residential construction. In this instance, an extension is being added to a listed historic building. Due to mandatory setback requirements, a magnificent oak tree with a trunk circumference of 350 cm was located directly within the new building footprint.
The Opitz team developed the optimal relocation method for this giant tree, prepared it for the move, and transported it safely and carefully to its new location—just 13 meters from its original spot.
