Budapest Zoo Biodome

Pannon Park, currently under development on a new 5-hectare site at the Budapest Zoo, is expected to open to visitors in 2021. To clear the construction site, a number of large and superlarge trees were relocated. Some of these trees were planted directly in their new permanent locations, while others were placed in a holding nursery.
The central building of Pannon Park, the Biodome, received several trees from the holding nursery for its exterior landscaping. For conservation reasons, the operators were committed to reusing the existing trees, as the site will house, among other attractions, the largest marine aquarium in Central Europe, featuring a capacity of 2.5 million litres of water and thousands of fish, sharks, and rays.
