20 oak trees find a new home along the Isar near Plattling.
As part of a renaturation project on the Lower Isar near Plattling, 20 oak trees were relocated to a new site using our Optimal tree spades on behalf of the Deggendorf Water Management Office.
The twenty oak trees on the left bank of the Isar were planted as seedlings 15 years ago by the Plattling river maintenance department. Over the years, they have grown into impressive trees reaching heights of up to 15 metres with a trunk circumference of approximately 100 cm.
Because the riverbanks had to be significantly flattened as part of the redesign of the Isar through the city of Plattling, the oak trees stood in the way of the necessary construction work. To avoid felling these beautiful trees, the Opitz International team was commissioned by the Deggendorf Water Management Office to professionally transplant the 20 oaks. The trees fit perfectly into their new location at Färbergies, where extensive renaturation measures had already been carried out.
